Altars to the Daylight
She built them for no one.
Small altars to light, to form,
to the hush between things.
The sun saw them,
and that was enough.

Exhibit No. 015 — Altars to the Daylight
Boujad Region, Middle Atlas, Morocco, Contemporary
Curator’s Note
This rug is luminous in every sense. The ivory field offers calm, but the shapes it holds are alive—stacked triangles, arcs, and orbs in mustard, coral, and coal black. Their placement is precise, yet poetic. The overall effect is one of ritual—modern and minimal, but also intimate.
This is a collectible textile whose voice will only grow stronger over time. Its value, like its colors, will deepen.
